Organization Mission
The Program for Torture Victims (PTV) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that rebuilds the lives of torture survivors from over 65 countries who have stood up for freedom, democracy, and human dignity. The first organization of its kind in the country, PTV has helped heal the wounds of thousands of survivors through comprehensive services, empowering them to reenter society, reclaim their identities, and work toward a world without torture.

About Program for Torture Victims
PTV provides services to more than 300 survivors annually. Survivors learn about the PTV through word of mouth, immigration attorneys, or social service agencies. We also initiate outreach programs to some of the most traumatized and vulnerable communities in the region. The Program for Torture Victims (PTV) has developed an integrated, comprehensive approach to rehabilitation. Our clients see a PTV case manager, physician and psychotherapist. We partner with some of the region’s leading service providers, including the Venice Family Clinic, Clinica Oscar Romero, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and Public Counsel, among others.
